It came as a shock when Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced their separation after two years of marriage.
There had been several rumors about problems in the marriage, ever since Justin had said he won’t be there for Jennifer’s birthday (Feb 11). Not just this, he didn’t spend Valentine’s Day with her either.
The question on everyone’s lips is- why did the marriage end?
Well, according to recent reports, Jennifer and Justin had “issues” plaguing their relationship, even before their wedding.
The actress hated New York. However, after she fell for Justin, who lived in Greenwich Village, she tried to move to Manhattan. But she couldn’t deal with the “paparazzi and pokey apartment”, and returned to her sprawling Bel-Air estate in Los Angeles.
“Jennifer is more comfortable in Los Angeles with her close-knit group of friends,” said a source, adding, “But Justin doesn’t feel as at home in LA, nor with Jennifer’s friends, he loves New York and the edgier crowd in the city.”
The couple married in 2015, after dating each other for several years. They spent a lot of time apart from work, and Justin began to spend more time alone in New York City.
The source added, “As they spent more and more time apart, their problems became bigger. He’s very focused on himself and his craft. And Jen is not the easygoing girl she wants the public to think she is. She isn’t as happy, and she is far more complicated.”
Their relationship became even more strained, as Justin began to get busier with films. Though Jennifer is still earning millions from product deals and Friend re-runs, she is taking on few big roles.
The former couple confirmed their split last week, in a statement. “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship,” read the statement.
This is Jennifer’s second marriage. The actress had married Brad Pitt in 2000. They separated in 2005.
