KAPIL DEV GIVES EXAMPLE OF SACHIN TENDULKAR TO EXTEND HIS SUPPORT TO MS DHONI

The 1983 World Cup winning captain extended his support and defended Former Captain and 2011 World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni.
Kapil Dev said that he expects MS Dhoni to play a major role in 2019 World Cup and 2020 Twenty20 World Cup, though that the former captain would be nearing around 40 at that time.
Kapil Dev further said that “I am not able to understand despite being given such a good performance, why people are behind him after giving some average performances. Though age is not a concern for him it definitely does not have anything to do with his performances. In 2011, when India won the World Cup, Sachin Tendulkar was 38 and nobody spoke about him.
Due to recent average performances in Twenty20, there were chances of Dhoni being dropped from squad, but head coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli fully backed him.
Kapil Dev who is also the 1st World Cup winning captain for India believed that till now there has not been a replacement for MS Dhoni. “Even if he is dropped, whom are they going to get” that is the question I wondered.
Though Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin are restricted to test cricket, Kapil Dev it was due to their performance going down than players who have replaced them. “There no thing like seniority in Indian Team and every player is in the team due to his individual performance. That is why Kuldeep and Chahal are retained in ODI squad.
