Love: A Harsh Reality!?

Akash bhattacharya

Love is the best feeling in the world. You get the power to conquer the whole world while holding a hand in your hand. But the truth is that it also hurts sometimes…hurts at the separation moments. In love, you are no more alone in your thoughts. You share the loneliness of your thoughts with someone special but the irony is you give someone the power to destroy you more than anyone else in the world. Also you won’t be able to think of anything else. You will be so utterly head over heels in love that you will not be able to focus your attention on anything else. Everything changes with time so as love, sorry, but it’s true. Being young means that you probably won’t be with them forever and ever. People grow up and change.

Some people tend to differ love with infatuation and it’s true. Infatuation is an intense feeling. It happens when you are attracted to an appearance or attracted to someone sexually. Infatuation happens early on and tends to become obsessive. When you’re infatuated, you put on the person on a pedestal and don’t acknowledge him for who he really is — good or bad. You may behave irrationally, become caught up in your feelings of what you think love is and aren’t living in reality whereas Love is such a divine feeling that it motivates you to do something great that you may not be able to do so. It is an inside job, we tend to look for love from someone else, not realizing that love is actually within. Love is about loving yourself first so that you are whole and not looking for someone else to complete you. It’s a way of being.
Still, if you feel a deep love, you are willing to overlook many things but if you feel a Disconnect then the flaws begin to irk you. This is the harsh reality of love and still there exists many.

I’ve experienced a heartbreak in my life and it completely shattered me. I still don’t think I’ve truly healed. I now go with the flow and I definitely do not get attached. But then there’s a hope which makes us life a worthy life. In situations where you don’t have anything but hope, you can overcome anything in life. Sometimes hope comes from despair and grief. It was hope that enabled me to accomplish things that I may not be able to do otherwise.
But if today has gone well for you, it’s just because of your loved ones! Do send a prayer of gratitude to the forces above. Cherish the happy memories and create the amazing ones. Just don’t get attached.
