The much alleged and rumoured love story between the Indian cricket team skipper across all formats Virat Kohli and the B-Town diva Anushka Sharma, ended in a ‘Big, Fat Wedding’ on December 11 in a countryside resort named Borgo Finocchieto- one of the most expensive holiday properties rented at $150,000 per week, in Tuscany, Italy.
The couple opted the wedding to be a quite affair with only their close family and a few friends attending the ceremony. Rumours about their union started going on air when the skipper Kohli opted out of the ongoing India-Sri Lanka series one days and T20s.
Soon after their wedding, theTwitterati and all media overflew with their wedding images and videos. Well-wishers, which included the couple’s family, relatives, well known celebrities, cricketers and their family of fans expressed their wedding greetings and blessings for the couple.
The couple had arrived Delhi on December 21. Next day, they threw a reception for their family members and friends. It was also attended by Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Arun Jaitley and a few Indian cricketers as well.
Next follows a grand reception on December 26 in Mumbai which will be attended by cricketers and bollywood celebs and a few others.
As per sources, the venue for this reception will be Astor Ballroom of St Regis Hotel in Lower Parel- the same venue which hosted Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge post-wedding functions a few weeks earlier.
After this, the couple will fly away to South Africa for the much heated bilateral India-South Africa series, which will continue for the next two months.
Anushka will be back to India after first week in January for her beginning the shooting of a film with SRK and promotions of Pari, her next film.
The “cric-bolly” union started first in 1969 when Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi married Sharmila Tegore.
