The Union Public Service Commission has declared the results of the prestigious Civil Service Examination 2016. Nandini K.R from Kolar, Karnataka topped the exam while Anmol Sher Singh Bedi and Gopalakrishna Ronanki secured the second and third ranks respectively. 1099 candidates have been recommended for appointment to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group A and Group B, including 44 physically handicapped candidates. The top 25 candidates comprise 18 men and 7 women. This was Nandini’s fourth attempt. She had cracked 2014 civil services exam and was allotted the Indian Revenue Service. She is a civil engineering graduate and her optional subject was Kannada literature. Anmol Sher Singh Bedi is a computer science graduate from BITS Pilani. Among the 1099 selected, 500 are from general category, 347 belong to OBC, 163 are from SC category and 89 from ST.
