The Senior Indian Basketball Team will be coached by Serb Zoran Visic later this month for FIBA’S World Cup Asian Qualifiers, the Federation of Basketball in India announced it on its website. Serb Zoran who also led India’s Senior Women and U-16 women’s team in Asia’s top division in Women Championship of FIBA has taken charge with a camp in progress which is held for preparation for tournament. The camp started with 31 most probables on November 1 with 19 which would be included in the end.
Serb Zoran is being assisted by National Coaches Shambhaji Kadam, Laldingsana Hangsing, and Paramdeep Singh.
India will begin its campaign for qualification in World Tournament on November 23 against Lebanon in Beirut, before playing with Syria in its hometown Bengaluru on November 26.
The most probables include Amjyot Singh, Amritpal Singh, Yadwinder Singh, Arvind Annadurai, Satnam Singh, B. K Anil, Arshpreet Singh, Arvind Armugam, Muin Bek Hafeez, Gurvinder Singh, Akilan Pari, Rikin Pethani, S.Prasanna, Ambathi.P.Reddy, P.Baladhaneshwar, Vishal Kumar, Palpreet Singh, Arjun Singh and Palpreet Singh.
Visic was appointed in June as coach of Women’s team, and then in July India was able to win Secondary Division B match of FIBA Asia Cup. To maintain the same continuity, the Basketball Federation of India appointed him the Head Coach of U-16 National Team.
